Changeover guide
Planning same-day holiday-let changeovers
Spot the departure and arrival together, then confirm the access window, team capacity and unresolved booking updates.
The short answer
A same-day changeover needs both the departing stay and the incoming stay in one property view. Confirm the checkout and check-in times, allow for cleaning and laundry, and resolve any uncertain booking update before assigning the work.
01
Look at the property, not just two calendar entries
The departure creates the cleaning task; the next arrival sets its deadline. Put them together so the office can see the available window. A list of checkouts alone can hide a short turnaround.
- Check departure and arrival dates for the same property.
- Confirm access and key arrangements with the owner.
- Note linen, laundry and any special operational request.
02
Resolve exceptions before dispatch
A late checkout request, changed arrival or unconfirmed booking can invalidate the original schedule. Start each morning with the review inbox and compare it with today's changeovers before sending the team out.
- Separate confirmed work from a date awaiting a decision.
- Keep the source message available to verify a disputed time.
- Tell the team when a confirmed date or instruction changes.
03
Check capacity over the next week
The next seven days reveal clusters of departures, not just today's jobs. Use the weekly view to spot days that need extra staff, travel time or laundry preparation. Recheck after major owner updates.

Illustrative turnaround
What arrives
Coastguard Cottage checks out Wednesday at 10:00. The next party is due Wednesday at 16:00. The owner then asks for a late checkout.
What the office does
The office sees one same-day turnaround and the new request in review. It confirms the departure time before changing the cleaning slot or promising the incoming party an access time.
